With the Prime Minister's announcement on 22nd September of further restrictions to slow the spread of coronavirus and his statement that these measures could be in place for six months, it has become clear that it will NOT be possible to hold our annual community Christmas Dinner in 2020.
Having been held every year since 2007, Core Church's open-to-everyone free-of-charge Christmas Dinner at Melksham Assembly Hall has become something of a local tradition and, as long as there are people who want to join us, we will continue to host this event year after year.
Due to the increasing number of people wanting to attend, we now have two sittings. The first sitting is at 12pm, followed by our Carol Service at 2pm, with the second sitting at 3pm. As far as possible, we will offer guests the choice of which sitting to attend, but if either sitting becomes overly full we will stop taking bookings for it.
We will be serving a three course meal of soup, followed by roast dinner with all the trimmings and finishing with a selection of puddings plus tea, coffee and mince pies.
All are welcome and there is no charge, though anyone who wants to make a donation is welcome to do so.
Do you have special dietary requirements? Vegetarian option and gluten-free options are available and if you have any other special dietary requirements we will do our best to cater for you.
Need help getting to the Assembly Hall? Let us know and we will arrange transport for you.
We want to do whatever we can to make it possible for people to be here, so don't let anything put you off. The invitation really is for everyone – old or young, rich or poor, on your own or with friends and family. If you or anyone you know would like to join Core Church on Christmas Day at Melksham Assembly Hall, you can book your place by calling or texting 07788 446567. Alternatively, pop into Newman's Butchers, the Town Hall or the Assembly Hall and let them have your name and contact number and they will pass your details on to us.
